Episode 36 - Holiday Roundup + The story of Transit Tees with Tim Gillengerten

This week, we launch our holiday greetings from Andersonville! Plus, Laura, Sara, and Joelle do a roundup of all the great events this season, including this week's Small Business Saturday and the return of the Holiday Trolley.

Then, Laura and Joelle are joined by Tim Gillengerten, owner of Transit Tees, a Chicago themed merchandise store founded in 2001. With two locations in Wicker Park at 1371 N Milwaukee and here in Andersonville at 5226 N Clark, Transit Tees takes visuals from Chicago's metropolitan landscapes and transforms them into fashionable artwork, clothing, magnets, housewares and more.

This week, Laura and Sara are joined by Steve Satek, President and Founder of Great Lakes Clinical Trials and special guest, Great Lakes Director of Marketing, Amber Holst. Great Lakes specializes in the study of investigational medications, food products, devices and supplements for the treatment of chronic diseases, notably in Mental Health, Memory Disorders and Pain Management. Episode 33 - The story of RE: chiropractic + wellness with Sarah Ghorbanian

This week, Laura and Joelle are joined by Sarah Ghorbanian, owner of RE: chiropractic + wellness located at 5347 N Clark. Episode 32 - The story of Lost Larson with Bobby Schaffer and Bree Schaffer

This week, Laura and Joelle are joined by Bobby Schaffer and Bree Schaffer. Bobby is owner and head chef of Lost Larson and his sister Bree is the cafe manager. Lost Larson is a recently-opened bakery and cafe located in Andersonville that aims to honor the the craft of baking by providing a wide assortment of fresh treats including breads, open-faced sandwiches, croissants, scones and more. Episode 31 - The story of Urban Pooch with Ed Kaczmarek

This week, Laura and Joelle are joined by Ed Kaczmarek co-owner of Urban Pooch Canine Life Center located at 4501 N. Ravenswood. The Canine Life Center offers a large store, daycare, cageless boarding, grooming, bathing, and massage.  Ed is also the co-owner of Urban Pooch Training and Fitness Center located at 5400 N. Episode 29 - The story of Women & Children First with Sarah Hollenbeck and Lynn Mooney

This week, Laura and Joelle are joined by Lynn Mooney and Sarah Hollenback, co-owners of Women & Children First one of the largest feminist bookstores in the country. Women and Children First started as a modest storefront in 1979 and moved the its current location at 5233 N. Clark in 1990.

This week, Laura and Sara are joined by Mark Robertson and Mike Sullivan, founders of Root Collective and owners of The SoFo Tap at 4923 N Clark and newly opened Meeting House Tavern located at 5025 N Clark. Both establishments offer a relaxed atmosphere, comfortable decor and an array of events and nightlife geared to appeal to various demographics of the LGBTQ community.

In a special bonus episode release to help bring awareness to September's National Suicide Prevention Month, Laura and Sare are in conversation with Iggy Ladden, therapist and co founder of the Chicago Therapy Collective. CTC mobilizes to create safe, just, and inclusive Chicago neighborhoods for Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming (T/GNC) individuals and communities. Their exhibit, "Trans Art Is" can be viewed through September 30 at the Andersonville Galleria located at 5247 N. Clark.
